Important Notice: Temporary Suspension of Tea Ceremony Workshops

To our dear guests and friends around the world,
Thank you for your continued support of Komurasaki An. Last year was a truly special year for us. We had the pleasure of welcoming many guests from overseas, and though the time was brief, the heart-to-heart connections we made through the tea ceremony were deeply precious to us.
Today, we are writing to share some difficult news regarding our current situation.
After struggling with his health since late last year, Aki underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder on January 16th and was hospitalized until February 5th. Naoko visited him every single day, traveling 1.5 hours each way to support his recovery.
Perhaps due to the accumulated physical and emotional exhaustion, Naoko suffered a stroke on February 9th. She is currently in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), fighting hard for her recovery. As strokes often involve a long road to recovery, her future condition remains uncertain at this stage.
As many of you know, Komurasaki An is run solely by the two of us. Without both of us together, we are unable to provide the workshop experience we so dearly love to share. Therefore, we have decided to suspend all tea ceremony workshops for the time being.
Our primary goal is for both of us to get well and return to the tea room, so that we can once again enjoy the tea ceremony with people from all over the world.
We kindly ask for your patience and prayers during this challenging time. We look forward to the day we can welcome you back with a bowl of tea and a smile.
Warm regards,
Aki & Naoko Komurasaki An
