Mariko and Naoko visit each other’s homes two to three times a month. Mariko comes to Komurasaki An and provides advice to Naoko on kimono and tea ceremony. Mariko is a very reliable advisor for us.
The cultural exchange and appreciation for traditional practices, such as tea ceremony, are wonderful ways to connect with Japanese traditions. We’re looking forward to welcoming overseas travelers to Komurasaki An. The offer to share the tranquility and peace of a tea ceremony with visitors is a lovely invitation. Before Mariko left Komurasaki An, we all enjoyed a cup of coffee I made and a slice of cake. While looking through Mariko’s high school album, we reminisced about the good old days and shared stories from our memories. It was a truly enjoyable moment.
